B SHIFT 2-17-2007
Engine 4 & Ladder 4 responded to a fire in a hotel kitchen on N. Tryon St. Upon arrival, Engine 4 found a large grease fire on the stove in the kitchen. The fire was extinguished with 3 dry chemical extinguishers. The building was evacuated, and Ladder 4, Ladder 1, and Rescue 10 ventilated the kitchen area. Fire and smoke were contained to the kitchen area only.  Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, 2 Engine 4, 1, 2, 5, Ladder 4, 1, and Rescue 10.
