A SHIFT 12-29-2007

Engine 4 and Ladder 4 responded to a house fire on Norris Ave. Engine 11 arrived to find a working fire on the 2nd floor. Engine 4 arrived and took a second line in and began suppression on the first floor, and then assisted Engine 11’s crew with suppression on the second floor. Ladder 4 preformed a primary and ventilated the roof. Battalion 1, Engine 11, 4, 7, 18, Ladder 4, and Rescue 10 responded.

C SHIFT - 12-27-2007
Engine 4 & Ladder 4 responded to a fire alarm activation at Edwin Towers beside Station 4. Upon arrival, the alarm was sounding on the 5th floor. Engine 4 and Ladder 4 proceeded to that floor to investigate. Upon arrival to that floor they were encountered with heavy smoke conditions coming from a unit located near the elevator shaft. A second alarm was then transmitted. Engine 4 & Ladder 4 rescued one occupant. The fire was contained to the unit of origin. Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, 3, Engine 4, 1, 11, 5, Ladder 4, 1, and Rescue 10.

B SHIFT - 12-18-2007
Engine 4 was dispatched to a 10-50 at Parkwood Ave. & Belmont Ave. While en-route, Alarm upgraded the assignment to a Pin-In with a roll over. Engine 4 arrived to find an SUV rolled on it’s side with one patient entrapped. Ladder 1 and Rescue 10 assisted with the extrication of the patient. Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, Engine 4, Ladder 1, and Rescue 10.

B SHIFT - 12-6-2007
Engine 4 responded to a box car fire at the Norfolk Southern Railyard on N. Tryon St. A box car loaded with auto parts and cardboard boxes was fully involved. Tankers were added due to lack of hydrants on the complex as well as the location of the box car on fire. The fire was started by workers using a cutting torch on the outside of the car. Companies that responded were: Batt. 2, Engine 4, 7, 64, and Ladder 1.

A SHIFT - 12-6-2007
Engine 4 & Ladder 4 responded to a house fire on Poplar St. Engine 11 arrived to find a working fire in a single story apartment. Engine 4 established a water supply to Engine 11, while Ladder 4 vented the roof. Engine 4’s crew also preformed a primary search. A burn victim was found who had life threatening injuries. Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, 3, Engine 11, 4, 1, 64, Ladder 4, and Rescue 10.

A SHIFT - 12-5-2007
Engine 4 & Ladder 4 were dispatched to a 10-50 with pin in at N. Tryon St. and W. 26th St. 2 patients were trapped, with one patient pinned. Ladder 4 along with Rescue 10 preformed extrication. Engine 4 assisted with patient care and fluids leaking from the vehicles. Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, 2, Engine 7, 4, Ladder 4, and Rescue 10.

B SHIFT - 12-4-2007
Ladder 4 responded to a house fire on Honduras Dr. Engine 7 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions, and called for a working fire box. Engine 11 secured a water supply while Ladder 4’s crew preformed a primary search. The fire was contained to the kitchen area. Companies that responded were: Batt, 1, 2, Engine 7, 11, 22, 15, Ladder 4, and Rescue 3.
