Ladder 4 was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on North Tryon St. Soon after dispatch, it was upgraded to a pin in. Ladder 4 and Batt. 2 arrived together to find a single vehicle accident with a mini van head on into a tree. The vehicle also had a fire in the engine compartment. Ladder 4 began extinguishment, patient care, and extrication. Newell rescue 1 was dispatched on the pin in box and Ladder 2 was special called to assist. Companies that responded were: Batt. 2, Engine 5, Ladder 4, 2, Rescue 3 and Newell Rescue 1.
