B SHIFT 8-1-2007

Engine 4 responded to this homeless camp fire under an overpass on Brookshire Boulevard.

B SHIFT  8-13-2007
Engine 4 & Ladder 4 responded to a 2nd alarm brush fire on S. I-85 Highway @ Mallard Creek Rd.  Upon our arrival, multiple units were already on scene battling a large area of grass along the highway, extending up a hill and into a wooded area.  Companies that responded were: Batt. 4, 7, 1, Engine 15, 22, 4, 5, 8, Ladder 27, 4, Tanker 71, 21, Brush 5, Newell, Mallard Creek, Harrisburg, and other Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Co. Depts.

B SHIFT   8-15-2007
Engine 4 and Ladder 1 responded to a traffic accident on West Brookshire Freeway @ N. Church St. exit. While en-route, alarm advised that there were multiple vehicles involved. There were 8 total vehicles involved. One vehicle had a major fuel leak, and Haz-Mat was called to assist. There was only one injury. Engine 4, Ladder 1, 4,  and Haz-Mat 2 were the companies involved.

B SHIFT   8-18-2007
Engine and Ladder 4 responded to a reported brush fire near a building at W. 5th St. and N. Cedar St. While en-route, alarm changed the address to W. 5th and W. 6th St. intersection with pallets on fire. As Engine 4 was approaching the intersection, we found a fire at the rear loading dock area of a building. The loading dock area appeared to be fully involved with fire. Engine 4’s crew advanced a line on the fire, while Ladder 4’s crew attempted to gain access inside the structure to search for extension. Most of the damage was outside the structure, started by vagrants who were living behind the building. Companies that responded were: Batt. 1, Engine 4, 5, 1, Ladder 4.

B SHIFT - 8-30-2007
Engine 4 responded to a second alarm fire on Rozzelles Ferry Rd. The First Alarm companies had a 2-½“ line and 1-¾ “ line in place in Division A & B along with 2 aerials set up. Upon our arrival, we were assigned to relieve Engine 21 in Division B. The building was aprox. 10,000 sq. ft. with a bowstring roof, and was heavily involved when companies first arrived. The bulk of the fire was extinguished, and most second alarm companies assisted with mop up operations. Responding companies were: 1st Alarm - Batt. 1, 3, Engine 18, 5, 21, 25, Rescue 3, and Ladder 18.  2nd Alarm – Batt. 6, Engine 4, 17, 11, Ladder 2, 13, Car 8, 9.
